I frickin' love it when Gilbert and Anne finally get together. Their union represents some tenderness, familiarity, and trust that shapes my ideal of a romantic relationship.

"It was a long lesson to learn, but you were right. I went looking for my ideals outside of myself, but the dreams dearest to my heart, are right here." She smiles at him.
He takes her hands in his. "It'll be three years before I finish medical school, and even then, there will be no crystal starbursts or marble halls." He says to her.
"I don't want starbursts or marble halls. I just want you." He smiles softly. They kiss, for the first time, and embrace, on the bridge over looking the lake.
