A Weekend in Homer

The 10-year old and I just got back from a trip home to Alaska. We spent ten days there visiting friends, and family. The trip primarily was spent in Anchorage but we traveled South on the Kenai Peninsula for the first weekend to stay in Homer. The following are pictures from that portion of the trip all taken on what is called the Homer Spit--a long stretch of land, wide enough to carry a road and housing, reaching out into the Bay. By the way, the Bald Eagle in the first shot was literally the size of my torso. As I took this picture behind me there were ten more perched on various towers.
